Awarded 2 AA Rosettes for its excellent cuisine, Asquiths is a contemporary British restaurant in Cornwall. Its marriage of exquisitely presented food with elegant and understated design was enough to see the restaurant receive the silver award in the Cornwall Tourism Awards’ Restaurant of the Year 2012.

The select, refined Asquiths menu begins with delicate options like chicken and black pudding terrine with charred leek and mushroom vinaigrette, moving onto sumptuous mains like Boccadon Farm veal rump with slow-cooked beef shin, mushroom steamed pudding, braised puy lentils, celeriac cream and curly kale. Delectable desserts include a blood orange and chocolate verrine with thyme shortbread crumb and crème fraiche ice cream.

White tablecloths and rustic exposed Cornish brickwork in the Asquiths restaurant in Cornwall keep company with a bespoke handmade mirror from an artisanal glass maker based in nearby Launceston. Artwork from a local artist graces the monochrome walls, contributing to a relaxed, unassuming dining ambience.

Asquiths is a 3-minute walk over the River Fowey from Lostwithiel Station.

Excellent. Very fine cooking that is delightfully understated. Not too much on the plate, so that everything counts - nothing overwhelms. This is cooking with ingredients that are obviously very carefully selected, mostly local. The menu dishes are individual in style, and don't blindly follow current fashion. Bread is particularly interesting and, again, individual in style.
This was an evening following Valentine's so the restaurant was empty - suited us perfectly, and the service was polite, friendly and professional, as we've come to expect from past visits.

Couldn't wait to return after a previous evening at the restaurant when we were on holiday in February. Food individually and besutifully prepared. The quality of the food was first class. Lovely warm welcome and excellent attention from staff during the meal. We were not disappointed and the only downside of the evening was that we couldn't manage a dessert. It's a must if we visit the town again and hopefully others will read this and eat there too.

Wonderful food in beautiful restaurant. Shame music coming from kitchen interfered with music in dining room.

Another great meal. Stone Bass was perfect. Cheeses particularly interesting especially red goats cheese. Wide range of wines. Knowledgeable waitress. Gluten free choices a bonus.
