On The Broadway, next door to the Odeon Cinema, ASK Italian Southend-on-Sea offers an extensive Italian menu in the centre of this bustling seaside town.
Inspired by the Italian way of eating, ASK Italian celebrates mealtimes as an opportunity to connect with one another around the table. Start with a perfect-for-sharing antipasti board from the ASK Italian menu, and enjoy signature dishes from fresh pasta to crispy stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings. And because there's always room for dessert, diners can indulge in a selection of beautiful desserts including the chocolate Etna, served with plenty of theatre.
ASK Italian restaurants showcase Italian cuisine at affordable prices, with allergen information on hand if ever you need it, plus a fun kids menu. Premium beers, including Sicily's most famous craft beer, Messina Bira, are available alongside Italian wines, cocktails and soft drinks, like a refreshing craft lemonade.
Southend-on-Sea ASK Italian is a popular, family-friendly Italian restaurant less than a minute walk from Southend Victoria Rail Station.

Visited at 2.30pm on a sunday, three of us. Really liked the restaurant decor, nice atmosphere, and our waitress was perfect - quick when you needed her but without constantly bothering you. She also let us choose where we wanted to sit as it wasnt busy at all. Food was very nice. Nothing absolutely incredible, but all enjoyable and as you'd expect for this level or restaurant. Portions were a bit bigger than expected which was good. They're not trying to be pretentious and more than they are. There's plenty of choice on the menu too, but unfortunately upon being handed the menus, we were told that five of the main meal options were unavailable. When it came to ordering, my starter choice was also unavailable. It was a new one so that was a little disappointing. But hey, we all still really enjoyed our meals. The mushroom starter could have done with more garlic but still nice, the carbonara was very cheesy and a huge portion, and i liked that I could add chicken to it. The honeycomb cheesecake was really yum but needed a thicker biscuit base. The gelato it came with was lovely. We used £15 tesco clubcard vouchers to pay £60 of the bill which was brilliant and made it good value for money. BUT, the drinks are very overprived (£7 for a large wine!) so I would not have been happy paying full price. The main thing i would LOVE for Ask to do is offer a 'create your own' pasta. They never do one that includes everything i want, I either need to go mushroomy, tomatoey or cheesy. Would love choose the ingredients and sauce myself.

Tasty food but we all had salads which were the size of a starter, so rather dissapointed! Also our waitress was not very accommodating and when my friend complained appeared to laugh at her comment!! Won't Rush back there .

Butterfly Prawns were tasty, the main was very bland with no seasoning and the honeycomb cheesecake is the reason for going. Unfortunately the mains let this restaurant down and they need an overhaul to appeal to new tastes.

The restaurant was very busy as it is next to the cinema and it was the night of the James Bond premier. The staff were rushed of their feet but remained friendly and attentive. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. Excellent night out.
