The food was delicious and the service friendly. We were given the conservatory area which was almost like having a private room for our party which included three children. The waitress was attentive and helpful.

    As a group of friends we have often eaten here but this will be the last time. The service was slow, a new waitress was serving us which was fine and we accepted that she would be a bit slower than normal service. However we ordered are starters and had to call her back to order our mains! When the starters came they were brought by a totally disinterested young lady who slopped around in a longsleeve cardigan and seemed incapable of smiling or looking interested. The mushrooms looked burnt but tasted OK. the mains arrived and were OK. At 10 pm we were peremptorily asked if we wanted the bill, the main lights were put on and we were given the impression the impression we had outstayed our welcome and they wanted to close up. So we paid and left. The food was good but the service did spoil the whole experience and the staff appearance was not smart. A couple of them did smile occasionally but it was no where near as friendly and atmospheric as it has been in the past. Such a pity as it is good value for money,.

    Well what a experience, waited 15 minutes until someone asked us if we would like a drink. Then 40 minutes for the starter and another 45 minutes for the main. The restaurant was having big problems that night; as there a lot of unhappy customers. Our food was good when we it came; but a lot of people were sending theirs back either burnt or under cooked.
    On the plus side; the staff were very apologetic and was given free drinks!
    The manger came over and apologised for the poor service and gave us 50% of the bill. Not sure what the problem was on the night as Ask has always been consistently good. Just unlucky I guess!

    The restaurant was cold, we told the waitress and she said it was due to the air-conditioning because we were located close to the kitchen. We were not offered an alternative table. My elderly mother sat with her jacket on for the duration of the meal. The service was slow, we cannot blame the staff who worked very hard, there just wasn't enough of them. However, on a positive note, we enjoyed the food.

    Attended Ask for an early evening pre-theatre meal.
    The waitress was very welcoming,efficient and helpful.

    The meal and wine were delicious and made a pleasant start to our evening. We have been before and have enjoyed the experience and will come back and we have recommended Ask to friends (we live in Andover) so can`t visit as often as we would like.

    This is the first time I have ever left feedback but I felt it was necessary this time. My sister and her husband had travelled a long way to come and visit me for the weekend, and having eaten in other ASK restaurants, I was confident of good service and nice food. The restaurant seemed reasonably busy but we seemed like we were being ignored.The first hint that it wasn't going a great experience overall was that we had to wait 20 mins just to order our drinks. A table of 6 that came in after us got served first! A further 15 mins went by and my sister had to go and ask where our drinks were! When they arrived, they had only got the one coke right. The lemonade had become the more pricier Sicilian cloudy lemonade, the sea breeze mocktail was served in a champagne flute rather than a tumbler as shown in the picture - so only getting about a third of the amount advertised. The jug of tap water for the table became one glass of water!! We managed to get the attention of a man who was possibly the manager who managed to sort the drinks out so we were happy and looking forward to our food now. When it arrived the pizza was fine, but the risotto and pasta were not. The risotto had congealed on one side as it has clearly been left standing for awhile and it was warm not hot. The gluten free pasta had clearly been cooked far too long and now tasted like rubber and was also not hot. There was about a tablespoon of sauce on it so most of the pasta was just plain, with a few bits of bacon. Having had the same dish in ASK in Shrewsbury only a few weeks ago, which was delicious, this was a huge disappointment. The manager asked about our meal, and I hate complaining but we told the truth and he gave us 50% off the food which was a decent gesture at least. We had planned on having pudding out but we left and went elsewhere and had a much better experience! The overall experience star rating of 2 is purely for the location.

    Had to wait forever (20 mins) for someone to come and take a drinks order, 15 mins later a bottle od Prosecco arrives with glasses which we hadn't ordered but none of the drinks that we had! Went to see a waitress and she says it's on the house for the wait and our other drinks will be arriving shortly and she will then take our orders.
    To cut a long story short, even though they weren't terribly busy (Wednesday night) and there appeared to be plenty of staff, we ended up having three bottles of Prosecco, 2 of which we drank before our food arrived, which also had to be ordered 3 times as the waitress got a bit confused (perhaps she had been on the lash too!)
    Very pleasant and apologetic staff and good food but if I ever went there again I would eat before I arrived!

    After booking the table we'd thought the table was prepared. In fact no tables were prepared at all. The staff were not busy they were all chatting. The restaurant wasn't busy, just poorly run. The service was equally poor with us having to get a menu. I wouldn't recomrnd this Ask in future.
