Close to Trinity and Exeter Colleges, ASK Italian Oxford serves a range of traditional Italian food in the heart of this historic University town.

Driven by a passion for authenticity, classic Italian food and culture shine through at ASK. The ASK Italian menu reveals both classic and modern Italian flavours with special ingredients like lobster, king prawns and slow-roasted Tuscan classic pork belly porchetta, whilst Italian Luganica sausage features in the fresh pasta dishes. Choose one of the crispy stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings, or create your own from the wide range of ingredients. Sweet-toothed diners can indulge in a selection of decadent desserts, including a gooey chocolate amore and the apple cinnamon pizza dolce.

With an obsession for soulful Italian food and ingredients, ASK Italian restaurants showcase Italian cuisine at affordable prices. There is a popular kids menu, and premium award-winning Italian beers are available alongside Italian wines and soft drinks.

Opposite the New Theatre, and within a 4-minute walk of the Oxford Playhouse, Oxford ASK Italian is perfect for a delicious pre or post-theatre meal.

The meal was great, service was great, quick. Friendly. It was very busy and very noisy at 7.00pm in the evening, I was very glad that I booked for table of 2. My only thoughts were that the lighting was so bright at the back of the restaurant, we needed to wear shades! No good for a couple on a first date!!

Saturday 14/01/12 7.45pm. Allocated central table at kitchen / bar end of restaurant. Very disruptive area due to kitchen noise & staff back & forth continuously. Unable to have conversation with guests and waited until we could be moved to table closer to the front of the restaurant, which was a lot better (although acoustics are not good - nothing to absorb the noise and noisier than most restaurants we have used). Starter: Rosemary & Sea Salt Bread with Olive Tapenade. Very nice, but the tapenade portion was a bit mean. Mains: 1. Spinach Ravioli; 2. Pizza with Funghi & Pancetta; 3. Pizza Calzone Con Carne Piccante; 4. Spaghetti Carbonara. 1 to 3 were fine, but spaghetti carbonara sauce was unlike any spaghetti carbonara anywhere else (no cream in the sauce - tasted more like chicken stock !) Manager insisted on deducting cost of spaghetti carbonara, despite me offering to pay the bill in full - so fair enough. Not for us - too noisy; a bit too cramped and equal or better quality food available at other italian chain restaurants, that have a nicer ambiance.
