Brilliant. Was able to have good choice of pizza gluten free loved the touch of the lemon complimentary drink at table. Excellent friendly service. Only criticism was the price of glass on white wine. 6.95 was overpriced .

Housed in a striking period building opposite Exeter Cathedral, ASK Italian Exeter offers traditional Italian cuisine in relaxed, unpretentious surroundings. ASK is close to the Guildhall Shopping Centre, and the Royal Albert Museum.

Inspired by the Italian way of eating, ASK Italian celebrates mealtimes as an opportunity to connect with one another around the table. Start with a perfect-for-sharing antipasti board from the ASK Italian menu, and enjoy signature dishes from fresh pasta to crispy stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings. And because there’s always room for dessert, diners can indulge in a selection of beautiful desserts including the chocolate Etna, served with plenty of theatre.

ASK Italian restaurants showcase Italian cuisine at affordable prices, with allergen information on hand if ever you need it, plus a fun kids menu. Premium beers, including Sicily’s most famous craft beer, Messina Bira, are available alongside Italian wines, cocktails and soft drinks, like a refreshing craft lemonade.

Exeter ASK Italian is a family-friendly Italian restaurant in the heart of the city, a 7-minute drive from Exeter Central Rail Station.

Lovely meal, in nice relaxed surroundings. A new menu issued a few days before our visit, so lots of choice, but no 'specials board'. Our waitress was cheerfully attentive and helpful, and generally I felt there was good customer focus.

The waiter was very attentive asked the right questions left alone for the right amount of time to think about order - but please don't try to say what's on the menu in Italian if you don't speak it .. I was so tempted to correct his pronunciation .. I held back !! Food was great

For the first time going I was not that impressed , no risotto , no check backs on either of our 3 courses , and when asked for water for the second time I was just told yes I didn't forget I was just two busy , fair enough but I asked when I was given my main meal and asked again /5 minutes later , felt like I was a pain more than a paying guest , host was polite and nice and dessert was amazing but the not impressed with the rest of the experience in all honesty

Excellent food, unusually very slow service. We arrived at 12 for our 12o'clock booking , were shown to our table, given the menus. A 3 yr old was in our party & we were disappointed that it took 40 mins for our food to come. We asked several times when the food would arrive as the 3 yr old was wanting his pizza, when the food did come we had to ask again for the veg sticks for the child.
We frequently eat at ASK & this has not been our usual experience. We told the staff at the time about our disappointment as our visitors were from US where service is always excellent.
