The waiter was top notch. Lovely feel to old building.

Housed in a striking period building opposite Exeter Cathedral, ASK Italian Exeter offers traditional Italian cuisine in relaxed, unpretentious surroundings. ASK is close to the Guildhall Shopping Centre, and the Royal Albert Museum.

Driven by a passion for authenticity, classic Italian food and culture shine through at ASK. The ASK Italian menu reveals both classic and modern Italian flavours with special ingredients like lobster, king prawns and slow-roasted Tuscan classic pork belly porchetta, whilst Italian Luganica sausage features in the fresh pasta dishes. Choose one of the crispy stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings, or create your own from the wide range of ingredients. Sweet-toothed diners can indulge in a selection of decadent desserts, including a gooey chocolate amore and the apple cinnamon pizza dolce.

With an obsession for soulful Italian food and ingredients, ASK Italian restaurants showcase Italian cuisine at affordable prices. There is a popular kids menu, and premium award-winning Italian beers are available alongside Italian wines and soft drinks.

Exeter ASK Italian is a family-friendly Italian restaurant in the heart of the city, a 7-minute drive from Exeter Central Rail Station.

Absolutely great experience. Very good service, extremely friendly staff, delicious food and romantic atmosphere. Loved it!

We just had a simple main course before going to a concert in Exeter Cathedral.
We both had the Asparagus and Ham pasta dish. It was good and would have been excellent had there some asparagus tips instead of just stalks.
The glass of Pinot Grigio was also good.
The service on reception was good and, at the table, it was very good.
    Thank you

Very enjoyable, good service and lovely atmosphere, I was presented with a dish that looked as if someone had taken care with the food and the presentation. I would go again.

Great food, good service, a few mistakes from the staff but rectified quickly and didn't detract from a great meal and a great time. Fantastic building too, overlooking Exeter cathedral.

The staff were very good. It was great to
Have a gluten free option without being made to feel
    That you were something different

The booking service via bookatable was excellent. However, the food and slow service was dreadful. We had to wait half an hour and still no one took our drinks and food order. Then we had to ask for it to be taken. The food took ages to come and then they forgot one of the courses. The waitress was apologetic about the wait but I think the kitchen was under pressure. The food was very poor. Tasteless pizzas, the goats cheese salad was a great disappointment just using soft spread goats cheese spread on a bit of stale bread on top of an uninspiring salad.

I was rather annoyed to arrive at ASK and be told my taste card could not be used as it was Mother's Day. I had booked on the Internet through my taste card and it did not tell me this at the point of booking. Perhaps this could be addressed in the future?
Also the restaurant was very understaffed and very busy; which was probably why our food arrived lukewarm. Needless to say I won't be going to or recommending this restaurant again.
