A busy Italian restaurant serving good value pizza and pasta, ASK Italian Cheltenham at Hanover House looks out over the attractive Montpellier Gardens.

Inspired by the Italian way of eating, ASK Italian celebrates mealtimes as an opportunity to connect with one another around the table. Start with a perfect-for-sharing antipasti board from the ASK Italian menu, and enjoy signature dishes from fresh pasta to crispy stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings. And because there's always room for dessert, diners can indulge in a selection of beautiful desserts including the chocolate Etna, served with plenty of theatre.

ASK Italian restaurants showcase Italian cuisine at affordable prices, with allergen information on hand if ever you need it, plus a fun kids menu. Premium beers, including Sicily's most famous craft beer, Messina Bira, are available alongside Italian wines, cocktails and soft drinks, like a refreshing craft lemonade.

With the Playhouse, Everyman Theatre and the Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum within a 10-minute walk, Cheltenham ASK Italian restaurant is near the centre of this bustling Gloucestershire town.

Lovely cheesy garlic bread but mains were disappointing. Chicken wrapped in prosciutto was dry and very salty, pasta with seafood was too spicy. Quite a noisy restaurant too, especially when getting busy. Staff were great though, cheerful and helpful.

Enjoyable experience but the Risotto was not up to standard, don't think rice was cooked for long enough. Have had this same dish in Malvern where it was much creamier.

The food was good. The portions were substantial. BUT the restaurant was so busy. There was hardly room to move between tables. I dread to think what would happen in the case of fire. Being so busy had an impact on service and quality in my view. Our waitress was great but it was SO slow. We had mixed doughballs which were not mixed. I had 3 dead mussels in my risotto. My guest had dead mussels in their linguine. These should not make it to the plate. I would try the restaurant again at a less busy time to see if there is a difference. We did have a good evening just rather longer and later than expected.

I booked one hour before arrival. No doubt your records will show the exact time. On arrival the table was not ready and we were told to have a drink in a different bar opposite and they would collect us in 30 minutes. We returned 30 minutes later and were shown to a table and offered a glass of Prosecco. The pizzas we ordered were both vegetarian were devoid of flavour and could only be described as very expensive given the topping. We will not return to this restaurant. This being the second time we have had the same experience.

Good food and service but the decor is bland and the music intrusive.

Enjoyed our dining experience at 'Ask'. Food was good and service was quick and served by friendly staff. Liked the lighting in the restaurant which gave a nice atmosphere.
