Inside the impressive Grade-II listed former Ipswich Museum building, Arlingtons Brasserie is a chic setting for seasonal British and French dishes, as well as afternoon teas. Huge skylights flood the interior with natural light, and there is a raised platform in the restaurant that hosts live music events.

The Arlingtons Brasserie menu utilises the finest seasonal produce, locally sourced, where possible, from Suffolk. French classics include moules marinière with a white wine, shallot, parsley and cream sauce, and beef bourguignon made with slow-cooked Suffolk beef and red wine. There is tender free-range duck confit with port and redcurrant jus, and recognisable British additions such as beer battered fish and chips. Vegetarians can choose from recipes ranging from spinach and ricotta ravioli, to the aromatic vegetable, spinach and paneer curry.

Delicate desserts at Arlingtons in Ipswich include chocolate and orange tarte with Cointreau, and a selection of ice creams and sorbets. Afternoon tea features freshly-baked cakes, and there is also a cocktail, wine and champagne selection.

Also offering a dedicated kids' menu, Arlingtons restaurant is a versatile eatery, and sits 12 minutes' walk from Ipswich Rail Station.

It is a beautiful setting, service was good it was my friends special birthday and the waiting staff made her feel very special. We all had two courses, two different fish dishes and a pork dish followed by delicious desserts. The food and service has improved greatly to the last time I eat there. We had a very enjoyable evening.

Extremely good lunch and catch-up with a girlfriend. I was shown to a lovely table where we could chat and take our time over lunch. the two lady waitresses were a delight, very helpful and co-operative over a question I had about the menu choice. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her chicken dish and, once again, I decided on the Seafood Gratin which I had as a main course. My friend had a delicious Lemon chiffon dessert and I had a trio of superb ice cream.

Although I have been to Arlingtons many times, I had be disappointed a couple of occasions two years ago. However, decided to give it another chance and it's back up to it's excellent standard again and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, although we were asked about ordering by several different people within a couple of minutes of each other.
Food was delicious. I had an issue with the quality of my dessert but a replacement was offered and the course was comp'ed. Will definitely be going back.
    The atmosphere is lovely!
