Located in one of London’s hubs of activity, close to Oxford Street, the Argyll Arms is a traditional pub set in a Grade II-listed building dating back to 1742. Complete with a Victorian snug, the pub is rumoured to include a secret tunnel connecting it to the Palladium.

Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Argyll Arms menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.

The Argyll Arms bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.

Argyll Arms in the – West End is a 2-minute walk from Oxford Circus Tube Station.

I dine here as often as possible when in London. The head waiter is first-rate, remembers his customers, and is always ready to help. A good menu with good wines.

This is a fantastic old London pub. The little bar rooms and decor is great. After a drink at the bar we went up to the restsurant on the first floor. The food was very good honest grub as opposed to Michelin star dining with decorated plates. One criticism would be the small & tired loos. The ladies loos were apparently not bad but the gents loo was rough with a broken door & catch.

Nice restaurant, very cosy. The only thing is, that the waiter didn't seem to know about our reservation. We are vegetarian, but the dish wasn't vegetarian. Shame.
But the quality and the price were good.

We were at the Argyll Arms for an afternoon tea which was very ordinary. Scones, cakes and sandwiches were disgusting. Drinks were just ordinary. I remember an afternoon tea at The Horniman an other Nicholson 's pub which was better.
