Located in one of London’s hubs of activity, close to Oxford Street, the Argyll Arms is a traditional pub set in a Grade II-listed building dating back to 1742. Complete with a Victorian snug, the pub is rumoured to include a secret tunnel connecting it to the Palladium.

With Nicholson’s pubs first established in 1873, the fleet has become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality stock of ales. Constantly-featuring recipes are bolstered by a seasonally-changing range of specials on the Nicholson’s menu, with favourites including home-breaded chicken Kiev, or a sharing cottage pie. Also enjoy old-school desserts and nourishing breakfasts.

At the Nicholson’s bar, expect to find 25 guest ales changing with the seasons, a resident cask master, and carefully-matched ale and food pairing suggestions. Compiled with equal care, the Argyll Arms drinks list features easy drinking wines, artisan soft drinks and classic cocktail mixes.

Argyll Arms in the – West End is a 2-minute walk from Oxford Circus Tube Station.

Nice restaurant, very cosy. The only thing is, that the waiter didn't seem to know about our reservation. We are vegetarian, but the dish wasn't vegetarian. Shame.
But the quality and the price were good.

We were at the Argyll Arms for an afternoon tea which was very ordinary. Scones, cakes and sandwiches were disgusting. Drinks were just ordinary. I remember an afternoon tea at The Horniman an other Nicholson 's pub which was better.

Nosostros estuvimos tomando el Afternoon Tea. Todo estaba muy bueno y el té delicioso. El buñuelo de chocolate espectacular y la ubicación del sitio excelente

The Argyllshire Arms is a lovely historic, traditional pub. The dining room upstairs was a sea of calm on a busy, early evening. We had quick attentive, efficient and friendly service from our lovely waiter. He added to our evening, recommending a starter and even giving us a bit of a discount. Great guy! The food - we had fish and chips - was lovely. Tasty, hot and good value at reasonable London prices. (I live in London so know from whence I speak!). I would have given 6 for service if I could. If you get a window table you can look out over the busy Argyllshire Street and see the famous London Palladium.

I was very disappointed with afternoon tea the sandwiches were dry and not much variety the scones were lovely but the selection of dessert cakes was very poor and they were dry .

Found the main meals fairly average, but okay for the price. Deserts were wonderful highly recommend the Eton mess! However the best thing about this restaurant was the service, only one waiter on his own but he was fantastic, very welcoming and happy to make recommendations (my Nan loved the raspberry ginger beer he suggested) he was also aware that most people in there were going to a show at the palladium so made sure they had plenty of time.

An excellent meal with lovely ambience and wonderful service throughout. We love Nicholsons pubs. One small complaint was the upstairs gents cubicle was completely trashed and the gents is far too small for all the people up there. The cubicles in the ladies were too small and toilet paper all over the floor.
