Set in an exclusive 4-star retreat, Arbor Restaurant serves refined British delicacies while staying true to eco principles and sustainable roots. Boasting 2 AA Rosettes and 2 Gold Awards from Dorset Tourism for Eating Out and Sustainability, the expansive gardens offer an ideal spot for al fresco dining.

Blending classic and contemporary cooking techniques, the Arbor menu makes use of daily deliveries of organic farm-assured produce and artisan specialities, as well as some of the UK’s finest fish and shellfish, fresh from trawlers. Serving uncomplicated, imaginative and honest food, the Arbor chefs mix the classic with the contemporary, with dishes like Lyme Bay scallops with creamed peas and bacon, or chorizo-stuffed chicken with red onion tart tatin.

Nestled in picturesque the Dorset countryside, Arbor is passionate about offering truly local flavours. The organic and biodynamic wine list restaurant has been extensively researched, with bottles painstakingly matched to the menu dishes.

Offering a chic setting that champions environmental responsibility, The Green House Hotel restaurant in Bournemouth offers a lush, natural hideaway. The Pavillion Theatre is 9 minutes’ walk away.

Lovely restaurant and layout of food. One downside is the sandwiches are brought out before everything else, traditionally should be brought at once! Scones we're not warmed which was a shame but we're very nice did need to ask for extra cream. Cakes looked lovely but would be nice if didn't mess with flavours I don't like coconut so the creme brulee was just ruined only tasted like a Malibu shot, jam doughnut clearly fried with onion bahjis as all it tasted and smelled off, not very pleasant. Best bit about afternoon tea was the sandwiches. Once finished we were left in the room alone for ages and in end had to walk up to bar to ask to pay.

I'm not sure why we hadn't heard of Arbor before, but we recently found out about it and visited for the first time yesterday for a Mother's Day lunch. It feels like Arbor is Bournemouth's best-kept secret as the food was exceptional (every bit as tasty and beautifully presented as Rick Stein) and the staff were all very polite and efficient. The 2/3 course menus are excellent value for money. Decor is contemporary and comfortable throughout and everything exceptionally well maintained. My only criticism would be that, on a very sunny day, the dining room felt rather dark - difficult to change the orientation of the room (!) but some brighter lights during the daytime might help. Also putting real white linen table cloths on the tables would be a small thing that, in my opinion, would elevate the dining room ambiance to the level of the food on offer. Very well done Arbor - we will back and will spread the word!

I took my mother for Mother's Day and my step-father for his birthday and had a very pleasant evening. The food was delicious and everybody thought so. The wine was good too and I thought the whole thing was good value for the quality. I liked the combination of flavours chosen by the chef; pineapple and chilli, cauliflower and crab, chilli and venison... My mother loved the Satay risotto (and she rarely gets excited about food!). I will definitely come back. My only disappointment was that I couldn't try everything on the menu! The staff were very nice too and accommodating when I asked if they could add one more person to my table for two less than an hour before eating on a Saturday night - it was dealt with courteously. Loved the big candelabras too - the lighting and ambience were spot on.

Beautiful food with distinctive and complimentary flavours. I had the peanut satay tofu which was perfect in taste and presentation. Great atmosphere, laid back and enjoyable in an attractive setting. Pleasant and attentive staff all smartly turned out and with impeccable manners. I will be going back regularly. I have already recommended it to both family and friends.

Warm greeting at the front desk. Good handover to restaurant staff. Airy, light restaurant with well spaced tables. Outstanding cooking and value from the £20 3-course lunch menu. We tried crab risotto (intense crab flavour and mackerel (beautifully presented followed by fish of the day with crushed potatoes and broccoli. For desert I have the millionaire cheesecake and my better half tried the coffee (pricey at £3.50 but really tasty)
