Elevated 7 floors above ground level, Michelin star-awarded Angler brings quintessentially British fish and seafood to the edgy South Place Hotel. This rooftop retreat offers spectacular views over London landmarks, including Tower 42 and the Gherkin.

Simple yet sophisticated, the Angler menu comes courtesy of Gary Foulkes. Reflecting the best available produce, dishes may include Cornish cod, sole and langoustine ‘sausage’, or slow-roasted turbot. Vegetarians and carnivores are also amply catered for at Angler restaurant near Liverpool Street.

A painstakingly compiled wine list brings together 250 complementing bins, with a focus on fine French whites and lesser-known varieties from around the world. Designed by Tina Norden, the Angler London dining room features a stony grey palette and glass covered walls, while angled skylights frame unparalleled London views.

A new go-to spot for savvy foodies, the Angler roof terrace is a secluded yet vibrant hideaway. Angler restaurant is a 2-minute walk from Liverpool Street Station.

    I can't think of anything that wasn't excellent... We had the pre-fixed menu offer. The tastes were divine, and I'm not exaggerating. The service was excellent as well. The highlight of the evening was the hyssop dessert. It felt as if it was the "cherry", the final touch on top of a very delicious cake.

    We went for the 4 course Tasting Menu with a glass of champagne.
    Unfortunately the food was less than average and very disappointing given the high ratings of the restaurant. The dishes were either very sweet (I.e. the poached beetrooot and pear dish) or extremely salty ( I.e. pollock main) and not balanced at all. However the celeriac and the potato mash were fabulous but obviously not enough for a great dinner. The staff was great,attentative and helpful. I do not recommend the tasting menu.

    Fantastic four-course dinner with Champagne as part of the London Restaurant Festival. Loved every minute of it: fabulous food, lovely atmosphere, and friendly and attentive staff.

    Very good - relaxed, excellent service. We had the taster menu and each dish was a taste explosion.

    Food was exquisite. Especially the apple white cream velutte with the Scottish langoustine. The presentation of the scallops was unbelievable as well. All in all a phenomenal dining experience from start to finish with fantastic service.

    Angler had been highly recommended. I visited with a friend. I arrived first and watched the staff rushing past for some ten minutes without being offered a drink or menu to read. Had table on terrace - very good. Food good if smallish helpings. Main problem: I received the wrong starter AND main course - slightly unusual in a Michelin starred operation? ! I mentioned this to the staff on each occasion but accepted both as otherwise my companion and I would have effectively been eating two solo meals. Service was a mixture of attentive/courteous and indifferent. Sommelier very good. Overall - interesting but needs to improve its ct.
