A lovingly-restored former pub, Angelus offers elegant French cuisine in a stunning Art Nouveau setting. This early 19th-century building is brimming with history, and was once a secret meeting place of political figures such as Winston Churchill.

An all-day establishment, the Angelus menu spans from light snacks through to opulent dinners. Indulgent dishes include roast rump of veal with sautéed veal sweetbreads and spiced spinach, or trout fillet with cider glaze and red cabbage.

The wine list at Angelus in London features some hugely covetable vintages, as well as wines by the glass. The cellar is compiled by founder Thierry Tomasin, who boasts credentials as the former Chairman Sommelier of Britain.

Tucked away in this hidden corner of London, not far from Kensington Palace, the Angelus Restaurant is just 2 minutes’ stroll from Lancaster Gate Station and Hyde Park.

Eat regularly at Angelus. On this occasion party of six celebrating recent successful channel swim! Excellent service, food and wine. Staff very attentive. Lovely informal atmosphere balanced by elegance and fine dining

Pleasant environment in smallish room. Adequate range of starters and main courses and competent service. The fish dishes (starters and mains) I chose were nothing special for the very high prices (£14 and £24 respectively). Very high price (£7) for very small glass of white wine.

Very, very good winelist, specialy from france. And the food amazing, try as starter the liver creme brulee. The service has always an eye to/on our table. We were there with 3 persons, noboy could find something to criticis. Maybe one thing we missed: a selection of tablewaters.

We came here 9 mins late and the owner refused to give us the price fix menu. He was rude and arrogant...
