Critically acclaimed by The Independent and the London Evening Standard, Angels & Gypsies also boasts a 5-star rating by Time Out London. Tucked away within a boutique hotel, this tapas bar showcases unique rums and a Havana lounge.

Importing iberico chorizo from Salamanca in Spain and matching it with basque hard cider & pickled pepper, the Angels & Gypsies menu also showcases cured charcuterie. Cooked Mediterranean-style, fresh British meats like Welsh mountain lamb and rare breed pork are available. Mexican street food is also a delectable choice including tempting burritos filled with milk marinated fried pork.

Featuring rustic stone walls, hanging meats, and stunning arched windows, Angels & Gypsies in London couples its gothic-esque mood with chic low lighting. Adding to its trendy atmosphere is the selection of boutique rums that undergo minimal filtration to give them a unique shine.

In the heart of South London, Angels & Gypsies in Camberwell is a 10-minute walk from Denmark Hill Rail Station. The South London Gallery is just a 9-minute walk away.

too small portions, it's not actually a restaurant, it's a winery that serves a little something along with the wine.

Staff are great in this place serving exquisite food in a relaxed atmosphere. My only regret was not hitting the wide selection of rums on offer as digestif.

Go there a lot. Usually excellent.
Service a bit off the mark last time.
    Apart from that, very enjoyable.

We dined on a quiet Tuesday evening. Service was friendly and quick, and the wine and the mushroom dish in particular were good. However, since our last visit prices seemed a little higher the choice seemed a little smaller, and in particular the fennel salad was put together with no love - fennel was cut too coarsely, too little pomegranate, and overall lacking in flavour. They'd run out of one special (prawns) and asked us if they could substitute another (1/2 poussin). This turned out to be ok, but when we got the bill it was also a fair bit more expensive. Overall a big pity as we used to trek here as a treat - no more. To put this in perspective we chatted to the couple next to us when we were leaving, and they had had a far more positive experience.
