The food is simply excellent, sophisticated without being pretentious. I have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. I agree with some other customers that service could be better paced and faster but it did not affect the overall experience.

Had a lovely meal to celebrate my brothers 50th birthday. My 80 year old Mum who is a fussy eater was with us, and we had a really lovely meal. The Sunday roast options are all great, and the bacon wrapped dates to start were delightful. We all had a really great meal and the service was excellent.

Had a wonderful evening at The Anchor Inn - thoroughly enjoyed the homemade bread, followed by the delicious duck (for me) and chicken supreme (for her). The chocolate fondant pudding with salted caramel ice cream was the perfect end to an excellent dining experience.

Very easy to book online. Visited with my daughter and husband on his 70th birthday. Service slow at times although the restaurant was not that busy, only one waitress. Food excellent, I had the slow cooked beef cheek with mashed potato and braised red cabbage, it was delicious and very melt in the mouth, I really enjoyed it and the chocolate brownie with chocolate ice cream for pudding. My husband had sutton sausage and mash which he also enjoyed very much along with the creme brulee, delicious apparently. The 2 course set lunch was very good value at £14.95.

First visit & intend to return. Excellent meal - dates wrapped in bacon & scallop starters both superb. Main courses lamb & fillet steak both very good although fillet steak more medium than the medium/rare asked for. Service friendly & efficient. No room for dessert!!!
