Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Service was first class. The food was exceptional. The ambience was just right. Would certainly revisit.

Charming and friendly, efficient, service throughout. Delightful staff.
Highlights of food: the sea bass in the amuse bouche; the just-boiled Cornish runny egg; the olive bread; raspberry sorbet 'contemporary vacherin' and my guest adored his 'chocolate creation' dessert; the very generous serving of petit four, especially the cocoa-coated almonds and the crunchy chocolates. The two glasses of wine [each] with this set lunch were excellent and an ideal complement, particularly the macon and the crozes hermitage.
We give the overall experience 4 stars not 5 because the table was too close to the waiters station, and in something of a dark corner, so that I felt inhibited in talking in their close proximity. Also, the main courses of a stuffed quail roll (his, he had hoped for roast quail, not sausage) and the roll of bland white fish (mine) would not have been first choices had there been a better fish alternative. Sorry. Small quibbles in an otherwise memorable and enjoyable experience.

From the moment we were greeted by the front of house person to when we left, the service from all the staff was impeccable and of an incredibly high standard. We liked the fact that the tables weren't on top of one another, there was plenty of room at the table itself and the little table for the handbag is such a sensible idea. Also liked the fresh napkin before the dessert and the lovely fresh hot towel too.

Fantastic experience and a well priced set lunch menu.
My first 3 star experience and it was definitely one of the best meals I've ever had. A step up in terms of food, service and overall experience. I was worried that the food would be challenging but it was classic French food at the highest level. Recommended.

Enjoyed the experience. The service was almost too good. The food was a little disappointing. The main course I enjoyed - cooked to perfection but the starter and dessert were just too small. Three or four mouthfuls is not enough to assess the flavours. All the small additions were delicious. I think that when booked for a prearranged set priced meal it is a bit naughty to come along with a drinks trolley offering champagne etc. Not sure whether this is a complimentary addition, the client is uncertain about asking. It is not so funny to find about £50 added to your bill.
I visited the Grill last year for lunch. It was about half the price and a better meal.
