Set back from the iconic Brighton seafront, Italian restaurant Al Duomo boasts an interior mezzanine as well as a sprawling patio area out front for al fresco dining in the summer months. A yawning conservatory ceiling stretches across the dining area, whilst themed entertainment nights, a lively bar area and wood-fired pizza oven share a setting with the lower dining area.

The Al Duomo menu includes offerings of Valtellina cured beef matched with tart orange segments and a mild ricotta cheese to start, and a main course of succulent tuna steak accompanied by a white wine sauce and roasted potatoes. The wine list is extensive, showcasing some of the finest wines from the new world.

Al Duomo is favoured for its authentic approach to southern Italian cooking and its proximity to Brighton’s popular theatres, comedy clubs and music venues. The Al Duomo restaurant décor features rustic artwork and pairs exposed brickwork with muted crimson tones.

An 11-minute walk from Brighton Railway Station, the Al Duomo restaurant overlooks the vaulted tops and towering minarets of Brighton Pavilion.

I booked a table for 2.30pm but I was held up in traffic. I rang to apologise I would be late, the man spoke abruptly and put the phone down. When I arrived, I was 15 minutes late. A woman greeted us. We were asked if we wanted a table for 2 and yes was the reply but I highlighted I had booked a table in my name. the woman, said that it didnt matter. I thought it did. It was rude

We normally book for 7.15pm on a Friday. We go every 3 weeks or so and we get a very warm welcome when we arrive. We love the flavours from the food. WOW. You have to try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

We ate at 5pm with our 2 children. The service as quick which is always good with children & the quality of the food was very good. It was also very fairly priced & the waiters were friendly. We would definitely go back.

Pre theatre meal at 6.30pm. We used the 2 Course Meal Menu for £9.99. It was great value and probably the best pizza I've ever had.

Dined 6.30 prior to theatre, efficient service but in no way rushed. Weren't made to feel inferior by ordering from the pre theatre set menu!
