Had afternoon Tea at The Waldorf. The booking was easy and I got the time I wanted.

First waitress to serve us was excellent unfortunately she had to leave halfway through. The tables either side had not been cleared and there were crumbs all over the seating. Food was ok not exceptional, to claim that it was the best tea in London is not true. When the bill came I was astonished to see that I had been charged nearly £100 for two people when this was meant to be on the STAR menu, I had to point this out and changes were made, but a little embarrassing needless to say.

We had an amazing time. The atmosphere was great, although the harp player only played for about 20 minutes which was a shame as we were really enjoying it. We had Champagne included too, which was a nice surprise and we felt spoilt, which was the whole point. We were not rushed out and spent more than 2 hours allowing us to try 2 teas and eat all our goodies.

Really excited about meeting a long standing friend to have High Tea at the Waldorf. Everything was fine, but found the harpist a little intrusive to our conversation. Despite him being excellent. Additionally, my friend saw a mouse scurrying across the floor, when I turned I also saw the mouse. We were both discreet about what we'd seen and kept our voices low to avoid other patrons from distressed. We asked to speak to the manager, who was concerned offering us an extra free glass of champagne. We declined on the basis that it would look like we possibly complained with that in mind. We were then nervous and kept looking under our table; we couldn't relax. A little later, my feet started to get cold. I tried not to think about it, but we were both uncomfortable and my feet got colder. I mentioned this to the manager who offered for us to sit in the bar and have a cocktail on the house. We retired to the bar, which was delightful, warm and comfortable. We were graced with a cocktail and coffee, which we appreciated and then we settled into catching up with each other. All the staff are delightful and as helpful as possible.

I noticed in the powder room that toilet paper wasn't available in a cubicle. Additionally, there wasn't a handle with sufficient grip to pull the closet door open. Another patron mentioned how cold it was in the dining room.

You will find mice everywhere you go in London, and it is possibly impossible to prevent them from coming out from the cold.

Thank you for this opportunity to share our experiences. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful and we enjoyed our visit when comfortably seat in the bar.

Poor quality afternoon tea, sandwiches worst afternoon tea sandwiches I'd ever tasted, the scones were nice & cakes ok but overall poor compared to the wealth of other amazing places nearby.

We had afternoon tea. This deal was advertised at 38.50 but we ended up paying 49.00 due to service charges and weekend supplement. Not happy with hidden costs. Cakes were stodgy and heavy. Sandwiches filling ok...the bread was dry.
