Wonderful afternoon tea, with a vast selection of pastries, delicious light scones, a wide choice of teas and very attentive service, all to the backdrop of a pianist gently playing jazzy tunes. A real treat.

With exotic teas carefully selected by a resident tea connoisseur, afternoon tea at The Wellesley is the hotel’s contemporary take on the timeless British tradition. A shimmering art deco setting in a renovated 1920s townhouse, The Wellesley is a modern addition to London’s luxury hotel scene.

Afternoon tea at the Wellesley in Knightsbridge is served in the intimate and atmospheric Jazz Lounge. Classic silver stands are laden with delicate homemade finger sandwiches, warm raisin scones from the bakery and an assortment of dainty pastries, while, for the ultimate decadence, add Brut, Rose or Grand Kuvee Krug champagne and a handful of fresh strawberries.

Carefully chosen from the finest tea estates in the world, loose leaf teas at The Wellesley hotel in London are elegantly presented in a polished wooden box. They are then aromatically brewed in a clear glass tea pot and served in sophisticated gold-rimmed glass tea cups.

The Wellesley is at number 11 Knightsbridge, a 3-minute walk from Hyde Park Corner Tube Station. The suggested attire for afternoon tea is smart casual.

The ambience in the Jazz Room was perfect.

Delicious, Delightful selection of sandwiches, savories, scones, cakes and a superb selection of teas.

Excellent service, from reception through to your jazz room waitering staff. Their attention to detail and non intrusive service was superb.

We were celebrating my guest 50th birthday and were delighted with the lovely celebratory cake surprise and glass of champagne

I have had afternoon tea at Savoy, Claridge's, Harrods and number of other restaurants in London, Wellesley exceeds them all.

A very big thank you to your extremely pleasant and highly professional team.

Understated hotel, loved it. Good service, nice ambience. Piano player just right sound level which is rare. Only slight criticism was that some of the sandwiches were a little dry at the edges. Excellent food and beverages otherwise. Am already booked to return. Would also like a non champagne afternoon tea menu for those of us who don't like it, probably the minority I know.

The Jazz Club venue was ice, although the seats more suitable to a jazz evening than sitting for tes. Pianist added considerably to the afternoon as we were the only people there. Service was good and the inclusion of a birthday cake for my husband was a much appreciated gesture. An enjoyable afternoon.
