Tea at the Ritz was fabulous. The food, the staff, the ambience, everything I could not find fault with anything.

Very disappointed with the experience of Afternoon Tea at the Ritz. The food was uninspiring. The sandwiches looked like they had been made early in the morning and left to stand, no precision or finesse in the presentation. The scones were pleasant but not served warm and only with basic jam and cream, no curds for example as we have had elsewhere. Most disappointing were the pattiserie. For two people they served two of one cake, plus one each of three other. Whilst we could have had extra, they were sufficiently uninspiring that we did not bother. They also brought around two other cakes on a trolley, one a tart and the other something that looked a bit dry and unpleasant. The standard of the tea itself was very good, no issues with the flavour or quality of the tea (but the china was poor quality). Service was ok, but not particularly professional and everyone seemed very rushed and distracted. The ambience was poor, too many people crammed into a small space and boy was it hot! Have they not heard of air-conditioning? Given the strict dress code, everyone was melting and I am surprised nobody passed out. All together a poor experience and I would not return to the Ritz for afternoon tea (or probably any other event) or recommend to a friend.
