The perfect afternoon tea experience! The very helpfull staff met us in the lobby, showed us to our table by the fireplace, the most beautyful room, decorated seasonally with a grand tree! Wonderful waiting by Devon. Fantastic sandwishes and perfect scones, almost too much to eat.

we enjoyed our high tea. may be it was a bit too fast because it was busy, so we didn t stay 2 hours as expected but 15 minutes less.

Awesome - really friendly and welcoming staff, especially Chris. The afternoon tea was fantastic and the setting was lovely. Drinks in the bar were expensive (£18 for an old fashioned!) even by 5 star hotel standards. Would definitely go back though.

Lovely afternoon tea as a treat for my mum's special birthday. Service was mainly great - they happily accepted a couple of candles and made up a birthday plate. The only reason for not having top stars is that a couple of the staff on occasion seemed distracted or not co-ordinating with each other, despite there not being many guests. For example, the lady taking our order happily agreed to substitute one flavour of sandwich in advance as neither of us liked it, but when the food was brought it hadn't been done. The second lady promptly changed it so it really wasn't a major hassle and certainly didn't ruin anything. The food was lovely, especially the chicken mayo and almond sandwiches and the gingerbread macaroon, and my mum said the scones were the lightest she'd ever had. Would have been nice to have two of each of the little cakes rather than a larger selection of single ones so we didn't have to decide which one of us got to eat it, but I suppose some people prefer the variety, so again not a major complaint. All in all a lovely afternoon.
