The staff treated us like royalty. The finger sandwiches were fresh and delicious. The presentation was nice. Next time I will request the sitting room, as it is very quaint and cozy.

This was my first experience of afternoon tea, and I can tell you I totally enjoyed it. To be honest I didn't know about the Capital Hotel until 'surfing' the Web and after reading other reviews I decided to book a table for 3. The service was excellent and meet our needs, very polite staff, I totally loved my experience thank you Capital Hotel, you guys made my birthday

My son and I had a very good afternoon at The Capital, we had Afternoon Tea + cocktail.
Everything was perfect! The cocktails (we had it without alcohol:-) Lovely tea, cakes, sandwiches, scones and the perfect service - thanks to the staff!

    Lovely little tea room.
Sandwiches were a little diappointing if im honest.
The sweets and scones however were too notch. Tea was delicious and the cocktail to finish was superb.

All in all, fantastic value for deal obtained.

Amazing location, lovely food and very friendly staff who do their utmost to please you (like making finger sandwiches without butter, because one person of the party dislikes butter)
My Earl Grey tea was a little disappointing though.

The small afternoon tea room was full and I found it a little noisy, and cramped. About 6 or 7 parties of two, all the tables were occupied and placed close to each other.
What I wasn't expecting was a service charge, that should have been mentioned on the booking website. About 10% of our afternoon tea.

The attentive polite service could not mitigate against the dry and carelessly made sandwiches, meagre uninspiring sweets, and cramped crowded tearoom. The scones were warm and OK though. You pays your money…
