My friends and I picked this afternoon tea as the menu looked lovely however on arrival we noticed the menu had been changed to the Floral Spring menu however when we booked this afternoon tea we wasn’t aware of this. The staff were great in ensuring we still had our champagne cocktail and although the menu wasn’t what we expected it was amazing, the sandwiches where fresh, the scones was warm and soft and the cakes and sweet where beautiful!! The table could of been slightly bigger, as 4 of us around a square table with 2 three tier cake stands in the middle meant we couldnt really directly look at each other, next time i would ask for a larger table. The members of staff were pleasant and even topped up our sandwiches, the tea room was relaxing and very intimate as it was small, the whole experience was enjoyable and I would definitely recommend this afternoon tea.

Warm welcome, excellent selection of home made sandwiches and cakes, plus delicious warm scones, wide variety of teas, plus refills - what more could you want?! Oh, don't forget the Bellini champagne cocktail to begin with!

    A lovely experience.

The Tea room was quite small, my main complaint was that it was very very hot in this room. I did tell the waiter who opened 2 windows just slightly but it wasn't enough and I felt I rushed the afternoon to get out of the heat. The food was average but the service was pretty good. I'm glad I tried this Hotel as I've eaten in the restaurant and thought that was outstanding. Sadly the Afternoon Tea wasn't up to the same standards.

We had a really lovely afternoon tea at The Capital, including a champagne cocktail. We were shown to a table in a small, cosy dining room. The table looked lovely, the waiter was attentive, and background piano music added to the ambience. After our champagne cocktail, we were served lovely sandwiches and mini-rolls, all fresh and tasty, and tea of our choice. The cakes included a delicious treacle tart and a light and moist orange and poppy-seed cake. Mini desserts included a lemon posset, and a strawberry trifle. We then had warm scones with cream and preserves to finish. All of it absolutely scrumptious! The hotel reception staff were very friendly and courteous. A delightful afternoon.

Excellent service, fantastic food in a great location. From the moment we walked in my friends and I were already planning to come again. Everything about the experience made us feel welcome. Then the food came and all of our comments were on how fantastic it was. There was nothing we could fault the entire time. We weren't rushed during the meal and even afterwards when we stayed to talk there wasn't the feeling that they needed to turn tables around and so we would have to leave.

A beautifully designed boutique hotel tea room. Staff very attentive and delicious warm scones and freshly made sandwiches and rolls. Generous quantities meant we couldn't finish the cakes. A very worthwhile alternative to lunch in a fabulous setting round the corner from Harrods and Harvey Nicks.
