Lovely grounds that the park is set in. Staff were very friendly. Array of food was lovely, just recommend there would be an egg sandwhich for vegetarians (halal diet)

I booked Stapleford Park on recommendation for afternoon tea for my 50th Birthday. When I made the booking I was of the understanding that tea would be served on normal round dinning tables, as in a restaurant, on arrival I was very disjointed to learn that we were to be seated on sofas with a table the size of a coffee table to eat from. This would involve literally putting our plates on our knees as the table was far too low for such a high sofas/ window seating. We were told that a wedding party had booked the normal room so we had to make do! After expressing my disappointment, further, we were moved to the bar area to a slightly higher table, but still on sofas, crammed in, feeling uncomfortable.

I was extremely disappointment. This was celebrating a very special occasion and my friends and I found ourselves crammed around a small low table, eating afternoon tea on our knees in a place which was chosen for it's setting and sophistication! Obviously I understand that you offer the hire of rooms to the general public for weddings, if you did not have the space to serve afternoon tea properly at dinning tables then you should have informed me on booking and I would have booked elsewhere.

Had afternoon tea at this venue. With friends of which one was celebrating her 60th birthday. The food was lovely presented well. All the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The ambience was great. Had lovely views out over the countryside. Had a lovely relaxing afternoon. We didn't feel as we were rushed.

The afternoon tea was amazing, it was so cosy and homely and staff were helpful and friendly. The quality of the food was amazing and beautifully presented. It was my mums birthday and they brought her a plate out with two chocolates on and had written 'Happy birthday' in chocolate sauce, it was lovely and I didn't know it was going to happen either! The place it's selfish is stunning and so much character, everywhere is so clean, especially the toilets! Both me and my mum absolutely loved it!

Afternoon tea. I was disappointed with the seating area assigned to my party of 5. It was a low coffee table near the window seating and therefore we were leaning down all the time - quite uncomfortable. The low table would have been fine if it had been low sofas, but proper dining table would have been much better. The afternoon tea was okay, nothing special and service for re-fills was a little slow, we had to ask several times for the same thing.
I don't think I would travel specially again to visit.

We visited for Afternoon Tea and added a glass of prosecco as well. There were a good selection of well presented cakes and teas. Sandwiches were reasonable but the bread was the same for each. They catered for my sister who was vegetarian. Service was pretty good. I think it would benefit from a dress code as one family arrived looking rather dishevelled. Personally I think afternoon tea should be a more formal affair but not all would agree. I've rated 4 out of 5 - very good

The overall experience was ok. I had come to stapleford once before for an afternoon tea and we were sat in the mean tea room in front of a beautiful fire and were waited on hand and foot. I then invited a friend to come and raved about the beauty of afternoon tea at stapleford, which is what I believe makes the whole experience worth the cost. I booked a couple weeks before, which I now realise is probably too late, and we arrived on the 1st of April to our tea. We were shown into the breakfast room because you were so busy. we were very disappointed to not have been able to sit in the other room and to not have been told this when booking. We would have booked for a different time/day had we known! There were also many flies swarming around which was off putting! The waiters and waitresses were lovely and attenentive as usual.

We were seated on a very uncomfortable chair with a low back so couldn't really relax. Also we were seated facing directly another couple which we weren't impressed about as it didn't seem a very personal experience . We had to wait over 25 minutes for the food to arrive after we had been given our drinks. Not once while we were eating did a member of staff come over to us to check we were ok. I had to wait until I could find a member of staff walking past half way through our food to ask for another drink. It was a very disappointing exsperience and I have to say paying 10% service charge for the poor service I received was shocking. I shall not be paying you another visit or recommending you . For the price it cost i expected fantastic service .
