The Afternoon Tea at Lancaster London offers classic British treats in Paddington. With irresistible food and a sophisticated setting, guests are treated to tea, sandwiches and scones, followed by sweet bites from the pastry chef.

The Lancaster afternoon tea menu features smoked salmon sandwiches, coronation chicken tartlets and egg and wild cress choux buns. Guests are also offered plum and raisin scones with homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream, topped off by sweet pastries and cakes including pistachio macaron and apple and honey cupcake. This is of course all accompanied by a choice of fine teas.

Guests can also retire to the well-stocked lounge bar serving a broad choice of wines and light snacks. Plush plum seating and dark woods continue the theme of subtle sophistication that is on display throughout the hotel.

With verdant views from the 1st floor, The Lancaster London Hotel is just a 1-minute walk from Lancaster Gate Tube Station.

My mum had a lovely time! I left a request on the booking for it to be made a bit more special as it was my mums birthday and they did just that. From the balloons to the sparkle in the scone. It was lovely, thank you.

The 'artea' was wonderful, refined flavour and well thought presentation (even preserve in paint tube). A wide selection of tea. The service is also excellent and we could get more of any component. I would recommend this afternoon tea to everyone!

We had a great time and the food was lovely. Would be good if it was clear whether we could substitute sweet items on the menu for savoury as there were a lot of sweet options.

Visually fun. Attention to detail. Well balanced flavours. Inventive presentation, with each item different eg every savoury was a different bread or a tart, three types of scones etc. All food precisely cooked eg really crisp pastry cases. Fun to choose from a selection of tea and use of brewing timers. Service not stuffy. Room pleasant, not opulent. Smart washroom. Price matches quality and volume of food. Overall portions fine, individual items dainty.

Afternoon Tea at the Lancaster Hotel was a relaxing and delightful experience hosted in their first floor lounge. The food was very tasty including a varied vegetarian selection, all served in an artesian theme. Free replenishment was offered. Scones were plain, fruit and chocolate chip varieties which was a big hit with my daughter and they had a good tea selection ( not loose leaves). An excellent Afternoon tea experience depends on staff and here the service was attentive, warm and friendly. I would be very happy to return to the Lancaster.

I booked afternoon tea (ARTea) here, with my mother, as a nice afternoon out for my birthday, and had an amazing time! Not only is the hotel easily accessible and very smart, everybody is so friendly and happy to help. When we arrived and made our way to the lounge, we chose where to sit, were immediately given glasses of lovely champagne, and then had the afternoon tea experience, and the inspiration behind it, explained to us, told where everything came from and how it was all prepared, shown artwork around the room, and talked through the tea menu. Everyone we encountered were also very cheerful and friendly, we had such a lovely time here and would definitely recommend this to everyone. The food was perfect, absolutely delicious, and the art theme is such a great idea, everything ties together so well, from the menu on an easel, to the sandwiches and cakes arriving in an artist'a box, and the paint tubes of jam and cream! Everything was freshly prepared then and there, and we ate until we could not eat another crumb, it was all so good. Another bonus is that this hotel is only steps away from Lancaster Gate tube station, and Queensway (which we used) is only minutes away, Hyde Park is right on the doorstep and the Royal Albert Hall and museums, if you want to make a day of it all, are a few minutes taxi journey away! This was the best afternoon, I can't say enough, how brilliant a time we had and we would definitely go back again!

Beautiful venue, seating spread out so that our group of six had the chance to have chat as a group as opposed to the person sitting next to you only, attentive staff, very good savoury selection for vegetarians, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

My friends and I had a very enjoyable afternoon tea. We loved the food and cakes were light and delicious. We didn't like the low seating as we couldn't get our legs under the tables and we're sitting at uncomfortable angles. Would have preferred a table with chairs.
