Wonderful food, friendly helpful staff all of whom knew about the food.
Did not think the flight of 5 wines for £50 was good value. One of the 5 was saki which we didn't like

The restaurant is lovely - very intimate and elegant as you would expect. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable. We asked lots of questions and they were able to answer every one. The food is absolutely amazing. We had the 6 course taster menu and every single course was brilliant in its own way. The general consensus was that the halibut dish was our number one favourite, followed by duck, then the vegetable course - our least favourite was the blue steak but even this was fabulous! We opted to try the additional pudding course which we were invited to watch being prepared. This was a dish that featured on the Great British Menu and rightly so! I will definitely look to go back again for the 9 course taster menu at some point in the future! Please note, this is a very high class restaurant and the meal alone is £65 per head. Wine is also a premium item so go prepared. I have no hesitation in saying this is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.

We had the 6 course lunch menu with wine. The wines were excellent, the service, friendly and professional. Unfortunately the food was not up to scratch. The first course, a pigs trotter with picked onion was too vinegary, that's all you could taste. The broccoli spear was served with a bland custard topped with tasteless summer truffle. The steak tartar was under seasoned and tough. The fish was nice but served lukewarm. The duck, again lukewarm and the components didn't work. Opted for cheese instend of pudding, wise move. All and all a ver disappointing meal.

Excellent meal and service. Food was sublime, the accompanying wine flight was a beautiful add on for us. A special treat.

We had a fabulous night, the food was amazing surely it will not be long before a Michelin star is awarded. All the dishes were stunning but just nudging ahead was the smoked eel and the clementine - how did you do that? The service was excellent and the pace was just right. The Someliers timing was perfect with our wine. I loved the decor and the tables were placed so you were not overlooked.

Visited with friends in lieu of a Christmas celebration. From the moment we entered the dining room it was obvious it was going to be special. The staff were pleasant and attentive without being overbearing and when it came to the food wow it was great. All six courses were excellent in particular the duck which melted in the mouth and the confit duck ragu accompaniment was wonderful. As I'm sure most people do we added the empire Apple to our meal (as seen on tv) and that too was amazing. After the meal we were invited into the kitchen for a quick chat with Adam Reid which was a great end to a fabulous lunch.

The food was delicious and we loved the addition of the chef's counter. It was good to meet and chat with Adam Reid himself! The outstanding dishes for us were the the trio of fish we had at the chef's counter (especially the oyster), the steak blue and the clementine desert. Unfortunately one of our party's salted duck wasn't very good. It was very tough and stringy (I tried it), however mine was lovely. Overall I didn't enjoy the menu as much as the 10 course taster when the restaurant was under Simon Rogan (I know Adam was still the head chef, but I thought the older menu was a slightly nicer dining experience overall). However, we still loved our evening and will be back again!

That is the best meal I have ever, ever had. The surroundings are exquisite, the service fantastic and the food.... I cannot think of a word that can conjure up the combination of balanced flavours, the attention to detail and the assault on my taste buds.
It was a special treat with 4 of us coming from Italy, London, Winchester and Altrincham to have dinner. It did not disappoint.
An added treat was being talked through the first course and the Golden Empire apple by Adam himself. A truly amazing experience that I will surely find it hard to beat.

Absolutely beautiful food and service from start to finish. Adam turned even the bread into a course on it's own with the most amazing butters. The golden apple is a must and the 9 course tasting menu is highly recommended so you can experience the journey that is Adam Reid

In addition the dining room is absolutely beautiful and wait staff were fantastic too. Thank you to the whole team
