The bookatable special offer was really great value for money. Service was excellent and the food just as excellent. We will be back, even without the offer.

The wine was excellent! Otherwise middle of the road. The food was good but not exceptional. Where our table was pitched looked a little bit tired, needed a little refurbishment. Service was adequate.

5 star experience - really impressed. We went for a family birthday, which I notified them of, and from the first point of contact they wished my mum happy birthday and constantly made sure she was happy. The service was attentive but not too much, and we were seated in the annex away from the main restaurant so had a very large table to ourselves in the quiet - which meant we were very comfortable and could hear for proper conversations. The food was sublime, really nice flavour combinations and although small portions as we had 3 courses they were just the right size. Overall, a hidden gem and made a truly memorable evening.

As a venue for lunch for three old university friends (of fifty years) it was ideal. Pleasant quiet ambiance with a low hum of conversation. You could hear properly; attentive service; good food including gluten free choices with interesting bread for me (I am coeliac); delicious gravadlax with golden beetroot carpaccio. Best of all, completely relaxed and no rush at all. We were the last to leave and were never made to feel that we had overstayed our welcome.

The food was outstanding. However the service, while cordial, was VERY VERY slow. As a result, the main course was barely warm when it was brought to the table.

Overall experience was adequate but not memorable.Only one toilet available for a reasonable size restaurant which could have been a problem if it had been busy. Where we were sitting the rustic wooden tables were a little too high making you feel you had to reach up to eat your food. All three of us thought the starters weak but the main courses and the desserts were enjoyable.

overall fine. starter was great, steak good. blue cheese butter not pleasant at all and was too cold to be melted properly by the food. New potatoes a bit dull, beans very tasty
