Serving fresh, authentic Italian cuisine since 1978, A Little Taste of Italy Ristorante Teatro brings a slice of continental life to Glasgow city centre. Just across from the King’s Theatre, the restaurant is the ideal place for a pre-theatre meal, and hosts live music at the weekend.

On the Ristorante Teatro menu, freshness and Italian authenticity are both treated importantly. Ingredients are locally sourced, with key items imported directly from Italy, giving diners the best of both worlds. From antipasto platters perfect for sharing, there is also a selection of fresh pasta dishes, fresh Scottish beef, and vegetarian options. If there is a desired dish that does not feature on the menu, the chefs will do their best to prepare it. All items on the menu – from bread to desserts – are made freshly in the restaurant each day.

As well as a selection of Italian and international wines, Ristorante Teatro Glasgow also mixes up a range of bold cocktails, and serves beers and fine spirits.

A Little Taste of Italy Ristorante Teatro is just 3 minutes’ walk from Charing Cross (Glasgow) Rail Station, and a 7-minute walk from Buchanan Street Station.

Not a great experience. On the booking form let them know in advance 1 diner required gluten free food. Was told I could have bruschetta or minestrone as starter choices so opted for the bruschetta. What I was served was tomato and mozzarella on a plate with no sign of the bread . Asked and was told we don't have gluten free bread!!! Why then offer bruschetta ??? Main course asked for the pasta with sausage and then was told I could only have arriabiata which I had no choice but to take. Every restaurant nowadays has wide choices for gluten free including all the other Italian places I go to in Glasgow. My point is that the booking should not have been accepted by the restaurant given that they clearly are unable to provide adequate choices for gluten free. Restaurant was very quiet when we were there. Would have walked out and gone somewhere else but we were going to a show in the kings theatre and didn't have the time look for somewhere else. Poor. Being Gluten free is not a lifestyle choice. Won't be back.

Very cosy, pleasant ambience, stairs down quite steep, but that cannot be helped.

Lovely restaurant, small and cozy, great food and good service. Prices are very reasonable and Kings Theatre is just across the road.

Very small basement restaurant. Tables are tightly packed, but there was a great atmosphere and live music int the form of an acoustic guitarist. Pre-theatre period was extremely busy, but the staff coped incredibly well and the food was delicious. A great experience all round.

Made to feel welcome. Couldn't do enough for us. Starters were great and the chicken we had for mains was cooked to perfection. Three course meal, bottle of prosecco, champagne cocktail and bottle of peroni for just over £60. Will definitely be back.
