Featuring awe-inspiring views of the city, 5th View Bar & Food sits upon the 5th floor of Waterstones in Piccadilly. Europe's largest bookshop is housed within a stunning, period-style Art Deco building.

Serving classic European dishes, with all meat sourced from a local London butcher, the 5th View menu includes burgers such as the 5th View double cheese, along with Texan barbeque chicken, with a smokey glaze. Sizzling steaks topped with homemade lemon and parsley butter are also served, and for lighter bites, try the mini duck spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce.

Sip on a cocktail whilst looking out over Haymarket, or dine in the brasserie-style Waterstones restaurant featuring artwork of London’s most popular landmarks. 5th View Bar & Food's cocktail menu ranges from the sweet and sour French 75, with gin, lemon juice and champagne, to mint julep with buffalo trace bourbon.

5th View in London is just a 3-minute walk from Piccadilly Tube Station.

I have been here several times, but never had such poor service and the food did not seem to be the usual standard, my daughters favourite food had been taken off the menu, so for the first time I was disappointed.

Food good, service good. Lovely view from 5th floor, but disappointing noise level. No music but unremitting hard surfaces and mininalist style meant that lipreading was needed with person at my table. Why do so many restaurants make this mistake? I wd go again but would eat in the bar which is lovely and avoids the noise problem.

Service was great and the food was good value. The decor could do with a bit of updating and was tired in places

    WOULD'NT GO BACK!
I booked this for a special occasion, we had the theatre booked aswell so i thought we would have plenty of time I allowed 2, 1/2 hours, It took all that time to get our dinner and pay!
Good bit is the 2_4_1 cocktails and they were really good so my advice just go for a pre dinner drink here, it was busy and a lot of people coming and going, my meal was ok, cod on a small selection of roast oven vegetables so ok, I did order a chocolate desert thinking I love any chocolate. but I had to leave it as I couldn't eat it! It was so horrible, served with a cream cheese?
Service was poor, they were busy. although very friendly and happy staff.just not a special place.
    Just somewhere casual.

Confusion over booking therefore less good table than expected. Wooden floor made noise level ridiculously high - extremely difficult to hear.

The view. Enjoyed the food also.

The food was lacklustre and the service was very poor. We ordered two salads, which were quite bland (the dressing was just greasy and had no flavour - a bit of balsamic or lemon juice would have improved it a lot) and two green teas. Even though our order was so small and the restaurant was not very busy the waiter forgot about our teas, which only arrived once we had finished our salads.

The location, staffs, service and the price of afternoon tea were great. Sandwiches, tea, little slices of cakes were good though unfortunately, inside of the scone was a bit hard and dried. Thinking together, I'd recommend this afternoon tea for people who would like to enjoy very casual afternoon tea with good location.
