    In difference, not bad.

Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with our afternoon tea. It was evident that none of the sandwiches or desserts were fresh - they were either packaged or had been sitting out for too long (or possibly both). Very disappointing for tourists who have been looking forward to experiencing a traditional English afternoon tea.

We went for Gourmet Afternoon Tea to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had to wait quite a while for it to arrive but when it did, it was very well presented and delicious, and the fact it included a glass of champagne each made it very good value.

Ok hotel with clean surroundings. Afternoon tea was average at best. Was not the best selection of cakes I've tasted and the cream for the scones were rock solid like it had been left out for hours. I requested a new one and was brought one with no prblems. Staff were very friendly and polite.

For the afternoon tea, we went for the 40% off offer, which brought the cost down to £12.60 per person for the classic afternoon tea menu. This consisted of: 4 types of sandwiches, which equates to a one full size sandwich, a full size scone with jam and clotted cream, then to finish off, 4 slices of mini cake loaf (2 slices of 2 varieties). The food was accompanied by unlimited tea and coffee. However, the tea was loose leaf as expected for afternoon tea menus. Thus, it was a limited choice. The restaurant is located adjacent to the reception, thus, it's not the quietest of places for afternoon tea. The serving staff were not as attentive as could be expected despite having a large number of waiting staff. However, for the discounted cost, the afternoon tea was ok. For the full price, I would recommend an alternative location.

We got there early and they were very kind to seat us early. The choice of tea and afternoon tea was good and tasted even better.

We had a lovely gourmet afternoon tea. Service was great, food was high standard and surroundings were comfortable and welcoming. Enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Nice, but quite dark in the afternoon tea area. Sandwiches were flavourful but bread dry in places and not a lot of filling. Scones warm and fresh and fancies were tasty. No "Seconds" offered! Starbuck coffees as well as Tea Pig teas available. We booked online and got 30% off so good value. In all, a pleasant afternoon.

Hotel was easy to find and we were welcomed as soon as we arrived, fifteen minutes early for our Afternoon Tea to Two. We were seated straight away and asked if we had any dietary requirements. We both requested extra smoked salmon sandwich instead of the spicy vegetable one. We were served quickly and were soon tucking into delicious sandwiches and lovely cups of tea. I had mentioned it was my birthday treat and suddenly the staff appeared at our table with a plate holding cheese cake with a golden candle and Happy Birthday in raspberry jus. They all sang to me. I was very surprised and touched. The scones were the most delicious I have ever tasted, just wish we could have had more instead of the cakes, which were too rich for my taste. We both thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea, the surroundings were calm and very contemporary. We will definitely be going back for round two.
