Good service given by the waiter Jordan,asked asked several times if everything was ok,the cakes/sandwiches came out the presentation was appetising and more than enough for the 4 of us to share.Lovely relaxing afternoon.Thank You ??

    Good afternoon

    Yesterday afternoon at 3pm I brought my family to your Waterhouse Bar as we were celebrating my daughter's 22nd birthday.

    To say that I was disappointed is a huge understatement. The seats were very uncomfortable, but as its an old hotel that, I guess could be expected. The tea itself, when it finally arrived, was a disappointment - the smoked salmon was vey chewy but most upsetting, all the cakes, including the scones were not home made!! This was very surprising and not at all what we were expecting.

    I had to keep asking for drinks, as nobody came and asked us and then when the coffee arrived I had to try and attract the attention of a waitress to obtain some milk. A glass of water I asked for never materialised at all. The hot chocolate wasn't hot, but luke warm so again I had to attract the attention of a waitress.

    It was not the enjoyable, relaxing afternoon that I and my family had anticipated, instead, it was an expensive mistake and one that I will not be repeating.

    I certainly will not be recommending the Metropole Hotel to my friends and family

    I booked tea on my birthday the traditional tea and was delighted with it on the 6th july.When it was my dear friends borthday i thought would do the same and went yesterday 1st august 1 30pm what a disapointment i was so embarrassed you have changed the menu and it was a mean stand awful it looked cheap it looked like i had gone for a cheap version it was awful we had to cut everything in half .please go back to traditional tea thats what people want for a traditional hotel.the staff were lovely but value for money i was ashamed . Also when i booked said nothing about you changing the menu wont be going back until menu changed.

    Found the afternoon tea rather basic and nothing compared to ones that we have had before .There was nothing outstanding and the teapot had a large crack in it where the tea stain was comming out which we requested another pot . We are members of the Hilton but found this dissapointing

    Booked for Father's Day Lunch - very slow service considering it is self service! waited 30 mins for 2 drinks. Very poor starters buffet and carvery only 2 joints and the beef was a small piece that the carver was trying to eek out. Would not go back

    The venue is quite vast and open. We went for afternoon tea which is generous on the portions although tends to be more on the sweet side as the savouries (sandwiches) were not as plentiful.

    Service is amiable and overall the experience is quite nice. Good price as well as there are other locations that are more expensive and this is quite fitting for a relaxed time and a bit of a treat.

    I took my mum for her birthday and we enjoyed the afternoon tea, the selection was wonderful and very tasty, the scones were amazing and by far my favourite
