Good meal but most of the wine menu unavailable.

Food was of a good standard and restaurant nice enough. Was disappointed that of the small number of white wines on menu all bar 1 weren't available (not delivered apparently). No offer made to open wine available by bottle or even to show some initiative and go next door to off-licence to buy some perhaps! Apart from that OK.

We booked online, which was very easy, for a reservation on that same day, Wednesday. We were given a lovely friendly welcome when we arrived at the Bistro at 8pm. We loved the ambience and the whole look of the place, small but beautifully decorated and in fact there is a separate area that can seat a party of ten. It was nice to be brought glasses of water as soon as we were seated without having to ask. The menu was innovative, the only difficulty being making a choice as it all sounded delicious. We finally came down on salt and pepper tofu with satay, beer battered haloumi, a delicious cheese dish and a chocolate and salted caramel torte accompanied with a lovely Sauvignon Blanc. We will definitely be back, bringing family with us. There's now no need to leave Chorlton for really knock out vegetarian dining.

Last month me and my boyfriend had dinner here at 8pm.Staff were really nice and smiley. Food was absolutely gorgeous, tasty, very good value for money. Two weeks later booked a table in 1847- Manchester and unfortunately I had exactly the opposite experience. Will go back to Chorlton restaurant, but never to Manchester again.

Couldn't fault 1847 Chorlton at all. First time my family have been here as we live in different parts of the country but met up for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent, service attentive, helpful and friendly.

Heard about this place from friends recommending the food - tried it on Sunday evening.Food lived up to expectation. I'd never been to a vegetarian restaurant, so i was interested to see what the menu would offer. All courses were really well thought out and really well prepared.[$]Nice, homely, chilled out - will definitely go back.

We dined in the evening and had a truly tasty meal which was excellent value for money. Overall a lovely evening. I'll definitely be going back to try more from the latest menu.

Dined for tea on a Tuesday around 8, took advantage of the special offer after receiving some bad news and needing to be cheered up. Small but perfectly formed restaurant, cosy atmosphere, nicely decorated, friendly staff and very interesting menu with generous portions. Certainly did the trick for me, and my other half, a meat devotee, loved it too.
